The Reliability & Compiler Framework Laboratory conducts research on compiler-based software modification techniques to improve the reliability of computer systems against hardware faults, including soft errors caused by transient faults in transistors. In addition, the lab explores methods to protect AI models from threats beyond hardware failures, such as adversarial attacks and out-of-distribution data, which are increasingly critical in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, leveraging the latest compiler infrastructure, Multi-Level Intermediate Representation (MLIR), the lab develops specialized compiler frameworks for various domains, including digital signal processing and heterogeneous computing.
